Auto Pack for iPhone and iPad

Last updated: 8 August 2026 · Applies to version 1.2
Auto Pack contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party code of any kind. There is no account to create and no server of ours for your data to sit on. The app makes no network requests we wrote. Everything that leaves your device goes to Apple, through Apple's own frameworks, and is listed in full below.

What stays on your device

Your item library, your trips, your packing lists, which items are packed, which bag each one goes in and the quantities — all of it is stored on your device and synced to your other devices through your private iCloud database. That database belongs to your Apple Account. We have no access to it and no way to read it.

Auto Pack also keeps a small local record of which suggestions you turn down, so it can stop suggesting them. It never leaves your device.

What leaves your device, and where it goes

Three Apple services, each for one specific job.

ServiceWhat is sentWhy
iCloud
(CloudKit)
Your items, trips and packing lists, in your own private database So the app works across your devices
Apple Weather
(WeatherKit)
The coordinates of a trip's destination and the trip's dates To fetch the forecast shown on the trip
Apple Maps
(MapKit)
The destination text you type, or its coordinates To turn what you typed into a real place

These are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive nothing back that identifies you, and we store none of it.

Auto Pack never asks for your location

The app has no location permission and never requests one. The only place it ever looks up is the destination you type in yourself. Your device's own position is never read, never sent and never stored.

On-device intelligence

Categorising an item and reading a trip description are done on your device. Where Apple Intelligence is available the app uses Apple's on-device foundation models; where it is not, a built-in dictionary of common travel items does the same job. In neither case is the text sent anywhere.

Reminders

If you choose to import a packing list from the Reminders app, Auto Pack asks for read access and reads the titles on the list you pick. That happens entirely on your device, the app never writes to your reminders, and nothing from them is transmitted.

Notifications, widgets and Live Activities

What we do not do

Children

Auto Pack is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included. It requires no account and asks for no personal information.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device. To remove the synced copy as well, turn off iCloud for Auto Pack, or delete its data under Settings ▸ Apple Account ▸ iCloud ▸ Manage Storage. We cannot delete it for you, because we cannot reach it.

Changes

If the app starts doing something new with data, this page changes in the same release and the date at the top moves. It is written from the app's actual behaviour, not from a template.
