Batch: Food Cost Calculator

The short version: Batch has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no trackers. We run no servers and cannot see your data. Everything you enter stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage.

What the app stores

Recipes, ingredients and their prices, pantry items with expiry dates, your shopping list, and settings such as currency and reminder timing. All of it is stored in the app's database on your device.

iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, the app syncs its database through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so your data follows you between your devices. This data is stored in your iCloud account, governed by Apple's terms and security. We — the developer — have no server of our own, no access to your iCloud data, and no way to read what you store. If you are not signed in to iCloud, Batch simply works locally.

What we collect

Nothing. The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no third-party code that phones home, and it never sends your recipes, prices or pantry contents to us or anyone else. In App Store Connect's privacy terms, this app's label is "Data Not Collected."

Notifications

Expiry reminders are local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device. They are only created if you grant notification permission, which the app asks for when you first save a pantry item with an expiry date. No notification data leaves your device.

Purchases

Batch Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details. Purchase entitlement is verified on-device through Apple's StoreKit.

Sharing

If you export a PDF cost sheet, it is generated on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet — where it goes is entirely your choice. The Home Screen widget reads a small summary file stored on your device only.

Data retention and deletion

Your data exists in exactly two places: on your devices and (optionally) in your private iCloud. Deleting the app removes the local database. To remove iCloud data as well, delete the app's data under iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

Children

Batch is a utility for costing food and does not target children, contains no ads, and collects no data from anyone — including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes any of the above — for example by adding an online feature — this page will be updated before that version ships, with the effective date above.
