Dustly: Cleaning Schedule

Use Undo on the message that appears right after ticking. If it's gone, open the chore and you'll see its history; completions can be corrected from there.

Open the chore, tap I did this earlier and pick the day. Late entries count exactly like on-time ones, and the dust resets from the day you chose. Backdating never erases newer completions.

A streak is the number of days in a row with at least one thing done, shown on the Progress tab, and it's deliberately forgiving. Yesterday anchors it, so a late-night clean followed by a morning app-open loses nothing. There's no broken-streak scolding anywhere in the app.

That's by design. The countdown is permission to stop, not a deadline to fail. Finish the step whenever you finish it, or stop entirely: stopping early still counts for everything you completed. While it runs, the timer also shows on your Lock Screen as a Live Activity.

Today offers a day's share, about five chores, so a long list never greets you. Tap Show more under it and everything else that is ready appears, in the same order, until your day ends. What you have done today counts against the share, so ticking one off never pulls the next one up. When the share is done and more is waiting, Today says so and lets the rest wait. Nothing is hidden for good. The Today widgets and the Apple Watch show the same short list.

Yes. In Settings → Your week → Quiet days, pick the days you never clean. Dustly always keeps at least one day open. On a quiet day Today asks for nothing and no reminder arrives; a chore that is ready simply waits for the next open day, and the wait is not held against it.

Under My day ends at you can move the hour a day turns over (up to 5 am), so a tick at half past one in the night still counts for the evening before. Quiet days and the day's end follow your Apple Account to your other devices and are never shared with the people in a shared home.

Turn on Vacation mode in Settings. Dust stops gathering while you're away and the daily summary stays quiet. Tap I'm back when you're home, and every chore picks up right where it left off.

If you forgot to turn it on, Dustly notices a long gap when you next open it and asks once, “Were you away?”. Tap I was away and it takes the time back from every chore, as if no time had passed; Undo puts it back. You can also set the dates by hand under Away and forgot to pause? in Settings. In a shared home, vacation mode and this change the chores for everyone in it.

Yes. Open Settings → Household → Invite someone (a card on Today offers it once, too), enter the name you want them to see, and send them the invitation link. They open it on an iPhone or iPad where iCloud is on for Dustly, choose a name and join. You both then see the same rooms and chores, and what either of you ticks off shows for both of you.

Sharing with one other person is free; a third person or more needs Dustly Plus. Reminders stay each person's own: your hour, your nudge.

A link works once and for seven days: whoever opens it first joins, so it may have been used already, or it has expired. In Settings → Household you can cancel the invitation and make a new one.

If tapping the link didn't open Dustly, copy the whole link (it starts with https://www.icloud.com/share/) and paste it under Settings → Household → Join a home with a link. Joining needs iCloud: in iOS Settings, sign in with your Apple Account and turn on iCloud for Dustly (your name → iCloud).

Everyone in a shared home sees and can change everything in it: rooms, chores, notes, photos, checklists and the history. Reminders, quiet days and the hour your day ends are not shared.

To leave a home you joined, use Settings → Household → Leave this home; your own home waits where you left it and comes back. The owner can take someone out from the household list. Either way, what that person ticked off stays in the history and their chores go back to everyone.

Giving a chore to one person and taking turns are part of Dustly Plus. A chore can belong to anyone, to one person, or rotate: Take turns walks through the people in the order they're listed, and the turn is always worked out from what actually happened, so it can never drift. People who don't use Dustly themselves, like children, can be added by name (also Plus).

“The split” on the Progress tab shows who did what, month by month with Plus; the last 14 days are free. It's a statement of fact, not a scoreboard.

Yes. Your home syncs automatically between your own iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud, free, with nothing to set up. Sign in with the same Apple Account and your rooms, chores and history appear. Sync needs a moment and a network connection; an offline device catches up when it's back. Sharing a home with other people goes through iCloud too.

Sign in with the same Apple Account and your home syncs down on its own. Apple's phone-to-phone transfer and device backups carry it too. If the new phone looks empty at first, give it a network connection and a minute; iCloud restores in the background.

That can happen if two devices were both set up before the first sync finished. Dustly notices and merges the duplicates on its own the next time you open the app. Nothing you've done is lost in the merge.

The widgets redraw when the next chore comes due and whenever you tick something, including ticking right on the widget. iOS batches widget refreshes, so a change can take a moment to appear. Opening the app always shows the live state.

Yes, free. Say “What should I clean in Dustly?” for the first few things on Today, “Mark the dishes done in Dustly” to tick a chore off, or “Start Small Steps in Dustly”. The same actions are in the Shortcuts app and in Spotlight, and Spotlight finds your chores and rooms by name. The phrases are translated into each of Dustly's languages, and the device has to be unlocked for Siri to read or change your chores.

There is also a Control Center control that opens Dustly on one small step with a five-minute timer. You can put it in Control Center, on the Lock Screen or on the Action Button.

Yes, free, on watchOS 11.6 or later. The watch app shows Today on your wrist, lets you tick a chore off and runs the Small Steps timer, and there are watch-face complications.

The watch shows your home as your iPhone last sent it, and a tick made while the iPhone is out of reach is delivered when it is back. It needs Dustly on the paired iPhone; the watch app has no iCloud access of its own.

Dustly sends at most one notification a day: a quiet summary at the hour you pick, only when something is actually ready, naming one small thing. If you haven't opened Dustly for a week, it eases off to once a week. Check Settings → Notifications in Dustly (the switch and the hour), then iOS Settings → Notifications → Dustly.

If nothing was ready at your chosen hour, it's one of your quiet days, or Vacation mode is on, silence is correct behaviour, not a bug. Dustly never sends per-chore reminders. In a shared home each person's reminders are their own.

The core is free and unlimited, permanently: rooms, chores, the Today list, streaks, Small Steps, the widgets, Siri and Shortcuts, the Apple Watch app, the daily summary, vacation mode, quiet days, one full run of each seasonal checklist, and sharing your home with one other person.

Plus adds turns and the split (giving chores to people, taking turns and who did what month by month), a third person or more in a shared home and people added by name, your full history (free keeps the last 14 days), every seasonal checklist any time plus your own custom checklists, and photos on chores. One Plus covers everyone in the home it was bought in. It comes as a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. If a subscription lapses, nothing you made is taken away: photos still show, custom checklists still run and the people already in a home stay in it. Only creating new Plus things asks again.

On the Plus screen, tap Restore. If you bought Plus with a different Apple Account, sign in with that one and try again. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your App Store subscription settings; Dustly never handles payment details itself.

Settings → Start over deletes every room, chore with its history, checklist run, custom checklist and person added by name in the home on screen, everywhere it syncs. In a shared home that is for everyone in it, so guests don't see the button and leave the home instead. It also resets your own choices (quiet days, the hour your day ends, the name you go by) on all your devices. Deleting the app removes its data from that device, and the copy in your own iCloud can be removed under iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
