01What the app stores

Everything you put into StitchShelf is yours and stays under your control:

• Projects — names, yarn and hook details, notes, status and a colour tag
• Row counters and a per-day total of rows you counted (this is what the Stats tab shows)
• Photos you choose to add to a project
• Pattern files (PDFs and images) you import
• Your yarn stash entries

All of it is stored on your device in the app's own database. None of it is sent to us — there is no "us" to send it to; we operate no server.

02iCloud sync

StitchShelf syncs through Apple's CloudKit using your iCloud account's private database. That database is readable only by you, on your own devices. Apple does not expose its contents to the developer: we cannot see, retrieve, or delete your records, and no developer-run server is involved at any point.

Sync is on by default when your device uses iCloud. You can turn it off for StitchShelf under Settings → your name → iCloud → Saved to iCloud. Apple is the data processor for iCloud; Apple's privacy policy is at apple.com/legal/privacy.

03Notifications

StitchShelf sends no notifications and never asks for notification permission. The app declares a background mode called remote-notification; this is CloudKit's silent signal that your data changed on another device, used only to keep sync fresh. It is not marketing push — you will never see a message from it.

04What the app does not do

• No analytics, no usage tracking, no crash-reporting SDK
• No advertising, no ad identifier, and no tracking prompt — there is nothing to track
• No account, no sign-up, no email address, no password
• No third-party code of any kind; the app uses only Apple's frameworks
• No location, contacts or microphone access is requested
• No data is sold or shared — we hold no data to sell

When you add a photo from your library, StitchShelf uses Apple's photo picker, which runs outside the app: the app never sees your photo library, only the pictures you explicitly pick. You can also take a progress photo with the camera — the app asks for camera permission the first time you choose that option, and the picture goes straight into the app's own storage (and your private iCloud), nowhere else.

05Purchases and what Apple sees

StitchShelf Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. Because Apple distributes the app, Apple may share aggregated, anonymised statistics with us — download counts and sales totals, never anything that identifies you. Requests to rate the app are shown by Apple's own review prompt, which reports nothing back to us.

06Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. iCloud copies are removed under Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → StitchShelf. Since we hold no data about you, a data-access or erasure request under GDPR or similar laws has an honest, simple answer: the set is empty. Write to us anyway if you have questions.

07Children

StitchShelf is made for a general audience and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, children included.

08Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes what it does with data, this page will change with it, with the date above updated. This URL is the permanent home of the policy.
