Yeastie: Sourdough Starter Log
Last updated 2 August 2026
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter — your starters, their names and photos, every feeding, rise time, temperature reading, note and bake schedule — is written to a database inside the app on your own device.
We cannot see any of it. There is no server, no account and no upload.
iCloud sync
If you turn on iCloud sync, that same data is copied to your own private iCloud storage so your devices stay in step. It is stored under your Apple Account, in the private database of Apple's CloudKit, which the developer has no access to and cannot read.
Sync is off unless you switch it on. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Photos and the camera
Photos you attach to a feeding are stored inside the app, alongside the rest of your data, and are included in iCloud sync only if you have turned it on. They are not uploaded anywhere else.
The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo, and iOS asks your permission the first time. Choosing an existing photo uses Apple's picker, which hands over only the image you select — the app is never given access to your photo library.
Notifications
Feeding reminders, peak alerts and baking-day step timers are scheduled locally by your device. They are not push notifications, nothing is sent from a server, and no device token is collected or transmitted.
Purchases
Yeastie Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment, billing and receipts are handled entirely by Apple; the app never sees your payment details, and none reach us.
We receive only the aggregate sales reports Apple provides to every developer — units and revenue by country. They do not identify anyone.
What we do not do
- No analytics or crash-reporting services
- No advertising, ad identifiers or App Tracking Transparency prompt — there is nothing to track
- No third-party SDKs of any kind; the app uses only Apple's own frameworks
- No accounts, sign-in, email list or newsletter
- No data sold, shared or disclosed to anyone, because none is collected
- No location access, no contacts, no health data, no microphone
This page itself loads no fonts, scripts, images or trackers from anywhere else. Nothing about your visit is recorded.
Deleting your data
- One starter: open it, then Edit › Delete Starter. Its feedings, rises and photos are deleted with it.
- Everything: delete the app. The on-device database goes with it.
- The iCloud copy, if you used sync: Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Yeastie › Delete.
There is nothing for us to delete on your behalf, and no request to make, since we never held anything.
Children
Yeastie is a baking tool for a general audience. It is not directed at children, and it collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If a future version of the app ever changes what it does with data, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change with it.
