Pet Medication Tracker

Work down this list. It is roughly in order of how often each one turns out to be the cause.

• Permission. iOS Settings → Pet Medication Tracker → Notifications must be allowed. The app's own Settings screen warns you when iOS has them switched off.
• Reminders off in the app. Settings → Reminders → Dose reminders has to be on.
• Medication paused. A medication with Active switched off keeps its history but sends nothing.
• Course ended. A fixed course stops reminding after its last day, on purpose.
• Focus or Sleep. A Focus can hold notifications back. Allow the app under iOS Settings → Focus.
• Not opened for a while. See the next question.

iOS lets an app keep at most 64 reminders waiting. Pet Medication Tracker queues the nearest 52 doses, up to 30 days ahead, keeps the rest of the room for health reminders and snoozes, and rebuilds the whole queue every time you open it.

With four doses a day, 52 reminders reach about 13 days ahead. Opening the app once a week keeps everything queued. Leave it for a month and the doses beyond the queue won't ring.

Press and hold a reminder, or swipe it and tap View, to see the buttons. Given records the dose the moment you tap it. Skip records it as deliberately skipped. Snooze reminds you again after the snooze length under Settings → Reminders: 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, 15 unless you change it.

Swipe the dose to the left on Today and tap Undo. The record disappears, and if you track supply, the dose goes back into the count.

Tapping the tick on a dose already marked as given changes it to skipped instead.

Tap it as soon as you remember. The app records the moment you tap, so a dose logged more than an hour after its time shows as late in the history and the vet report, for example “2 h late”. The time can't be changed afterwards.

Today only lists today's doses. If yesterday's reminder is still in Notification Center, tapping Given on it records that dose, marked as late.

Nothing is counted twice. The dose keeps the time it was first logged, and supply tracking takes only one dose out of the count.

The widget reads a small summary the app keeps on your device, covering today and tomorrow. It is refreshed whenever you log a dose, whether in the app, from a notification or with Siri, and whenever the app comes to the foreground.

If the app hasn't been opened for two days, the summary has run out, and the widget says so rather than guess: a wrong “All done for today” on a medication widget is worse than a blank one. Open the app once and it catches up.

“Log a dose in Pet Medication Tracker” marks today's unanswered dose nearest to now as given, and Siri tells you which one it logged. “What's due in Pet Medication Tracker” tells you the next dose, and says so when that is tomorrow's. “Pet Med” works in place of the full name.

Siri never logs a dose for tomorrow. The same actions are in Spotlight, the Shortcuts app and on the Action button, and in Shortcuts you can name a particular medication.

Yes, through your own private iCloud. Sign in to the same Apple Account on both and your pets, medications and dose history appear on both. There is no account to create with us. The app's Settings screen shows “iCloud sync is on” when it's working.

Only if their phone is signed in to the same Apple Account. The records live in your private iCloud, and the app has no way to share them with a different Apple Account.

A device the household shares, such as an iPad in the kitchen, works for everyone. A Pro purchase can be shared through Family Sharing, even though the records can't.

The device isn't signed in to iCloud, or iCloud is switched off for the app. The app keeps working and keeps everything on the device; it just doesn't sync.

Sign in under iOS Settings → your name, then close the app fully and open it again. It checks for iCloud when it starts.

Install the app, sign in with the same Apple Account and open it. The first sync can take a few minutes. If Pro doesn't show up by itself, tap Restore purchases in Settings.

If you didn't use iCloud, your records move with the rest of the phone in an iCloud or computer backup, or with Quick Start.

• Given as planned: doses recorded as given, divided by the doses the schedule expected in that period.
• On time: of the doses given, the share recorded within 60 minutes either side of the planned time.
• Skipped: you marked it skipped.
• Missed: the schedule expected a dose and nothing was recorded.

Doses still ahead of you today don't count yet, so this evening's dose never drags the number down before you have given it.

Statistics are measured against the schedule as it stands now. Change a medication from once to twice a day and the past is measured against twice a day too. The recorded doses themselves are never altered.

Open the pet, tap Export for the vet, choose a period (the last 30 days, 3, 6 or 12 months, or everything) and tap Create report. Share CSV is always free; Share PDF comes with Pro. Both go through the normal share sheet, so you can mail them, AirDrop them at the counter or save them to Files.

• Restore: Settings → Restore purchases, or Restore on the upgrade screen, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with.
• Cancel: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Pro stays active until the period you paid for runs out. A lifetime purchase has nothing to cancel.
• Refunds: Apple handles all billing, so refunds are requested at reportaproblem.apple.com. We never see your payment details.
• Family Sharing: works on the monthly, yearly and lifetime purchase.

Yes, 7 days for new subscribers, shown on the purchase screen before you commit. It turns into a paid year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the week is up, under iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

• Pause a medication: open it and switch off Active. Reminders stop and the history stays.
• Delete a medication: swipe it in the pet's list, or tap Delete medication inside it. Its dose history is deleted too.
• Delete a pet: swipe it in the Pets list. Everything that belongs to that animal goes with it: medications, doses, symptoms, weights and reminders.
• Weight unit: Settings → Weight unit changes how weights are shown, never what was recorded.

Deletions are immediate, can't be undone in the app, and reach your other devices through iCloud.

No. Pet Medication Tracker is a record-keeping tool. It never calculates or suggests a dose, and it doesn't diagnose or give veterinary advice. The dose you see is the text you copied from the prescription.

If your animal reacts badly to something, or you're unsure about a dose, contact your vet. In an emergency, phone the clinic rather than reaching for an app.
