01What's free and what's Pro
The free app is a complete tracker for a few projects at a time. StitchShelf Pro removes the capacity limits and adds statistics.
| Feature | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Projects | 3 | Unlimited |
| Counters per project | 1 | Unlimited |
| Patterns on the shelf | 3 | Unlimited |
| Photos per project | 3 | Unlimited |
| Yarn stash entries | 10 | Unlimited |
| Stats (rows per day, streaks) | — | Included |
Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store settings, and one purchase covers all your devices signed into the same Apple Account.
02Counting rows
The big + adds a row; the small − takes one back. The counter never goes below zero, so an accidental extra tap at zero does nothing.
- Set a target in the project's Edit screen ("Goal") and a progress bar and ring appear as you count.
- Reset or delete a counter from the ⋯ menu in its top-right corner.
- Extra counters — for pattern repeats or increases — are a Pro feature; the first counter is free.
- Siri & Shortcuts: say or run "Add a row in StitchShelf" to add one row to your most recently used active project without opening the app.
03Patterns
The Patterns tab is a shelf of files you import — PDFs or images. They are stored inside the app, work fully offline, and open in a built-in viewer. Rename a pattern or note its designer via the ⓘ button in the viewer.
To keep a pattern one tap from your hook, open a project and use Pattern → Link. Deleting a pattern from the shelf does not delete any project; the link is simply removed.
04New phone, sync, and backups
StitchShelf syncs through your own iCloud automatically — there is no account to create and nothing to switch on. On a new device, sign into the same Apple Account, install StitchShelf, and your projects, patterns, photos and stash appear after a moment on Wi‑Fi.
- If nothing appears, check Settings → your name → iCloud → Saved to iCloud and make sure StitchShelf is allowed.
- Sync needs iCloud Drive enabled; it uses your iCloud storage quota.
- The app is offline-first: everything works without a connection, and changes sync when you're back online.
05Purchases, restore, and refunds
- Bought Pro but it shows locked? Settings tab → Restore Purchases. Make sure the device is signed into the Apple Account that made the purchase.
- Cancel the subscription: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → StitchShelf Pro. Pro stays active until the period ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: reportaproblem.apple.com.
06Fixing mistakes and deleting things
- Swipe left on a project, yarn, or long-press a pattern or photo to delete it. Deleting a project removes its counters, photos and activity.
- Mark a project finished with the green Finish button — or swipe left on it in the list.
- To erase everything, delete the app and remove its iCloud data under Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → StitchShelf.
