How the schedule works

When is the next feeding due?

The next feeding is always the last logged feeding plus the reptile's feeding interval. A newly added reptile that has never been fed counts from the day you added it. Logging a feeding — even a refused one — restarts the clock.

What do the coloured labels mean?

Green means the feeding is comfortably ahead, orange means it is due today, red means it is overdue. The home list always sorts the most urgent animals to the top.

The interval the app suggested is wrong for my animal

The species presets are sensible adult defaults, not veterinary advice — juveniles usually eat more often. Edit the reptile and set any interval from 1 to 90 days.

Reminders

When do reminders arrive?

Feeding reminders arrive at 09:00 on the due day. If the feeding is not logged, the app follows up the next two mornings, then stays quiet until you log something. Care reminders (enclosure cleaning, UVB bulb) arrive at 10:00 on their due day.

I never get notifications

Check that “Remind me” is on for that reptile, then check iOS Settings → Notifications → ReptileFeed. If you declined the permission dialog, your schedules are kept — notifications simply start arriving once you allow them.

Logs and data

I logged something by mistake

Swipe left on any feeding, weight or shed row to delete it. Deleting a feeding also moves the next-due date back to the previous feeding.

Why is there a warning triangle on my snake?

Three or more refused feedings in a row show a warning. Refusals are common — especially in ball pythons — but a streak is worth noticing early.

Where is the weight chart?

Under the reptile's Weights tab, once there are at least two entries. The trend chart is part of Pro.

I got a new phone — is my data gone?

No. ReptileFeed syncs through your personal iCloud. Sign in with the same Apple Account on the new device and your reptiles, photos and history come back on their own. There is no ReptileFeed account and nothing to migrate manually.

ReptileFeed Pro

The free app includes up to 2 reptiles with full logging and reminders. Pro unlocks unlimited reptiles, logging a whole feeding day at once, weight trend charts and CSV export.

Widget & Siri

The Next feeding widget shows who is due next, on the Home Screen or Lock Screen. Long-press the Home Screen → Edit → Add Widget → ReptileFeed. It refreshes shortly after midnight and whenever you use the app.

You can also say “Log a feeding in ReptileFeed” to Siri, or use the Shortcuts app.
